Cozy place with great coffee and food. Awesome stop before going to Kinkakuji.
Must visit coffee shop just in front of Kinkaku-ji. The coffee is amazing and the atmosphere is like 50 years of Japanese unique coffee places.
MoreWe had sandwiches and coffee, both were amazing. The staff was very friendly and took great pride in preparing your sandwich and coffee.
MoreVery very friendly and nice elderly couple is welcoming you in this old looking cafe. We were surprised that they offer a very modern and western breakfast and it was delicious! Best cafe so far in Japan and a lot of homemade ingredients! They even got WiFi here 😳
MoreFirst time in Japan and by-far the best iced mocha java I've had in my life! The cream was so rich and delicious. Partner got the Kinpaku coffee with edible gold flakes that looked made for royalty (complete with gold spoon). Both for under 1200 yen, it was a steal for the quality. They have an English menu for visitors, give complimentary water and is right beside the bus stop back to the JR lines.
MoreGreat place to stop and grab a snack before/after visiting Kinkaku-ji. English menu is available and the food/coffee is high quality.
MoreOne of my most missed places from when I was in Japan! The owner is incredibly friendly - definitely take pictures and join the book where so many travellers have drawn! The coffee is really good and expensive. I tried something called "Austrian Coffee" which was something new and exciting for me. I strongly recommend this place to stop by if you're visiting Kinkakuji. Good coffee, quiet and hidden enough that you wont be inundated with crowds and tourists!
MoreMy husband and I stopped in while waiting at the bus stop. The couple who own the cafe were so kind and accommodating. There’s an English menu, and they spoke very good English. The food was just what we have been looking for on our stay in Kyoto. We both got the hot ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. I also got their specialty coffee that had gold flakes on top. Not only was the presentation of the coffee beautiful, but the flavor was strong and delicious.
MoreGreat coffee, great sweets, enthusiastic owner, calming atmosphere. Best place to rest your wary feets after or before tackling the Kinkakuji just 10 minute walk away.
MoreGreat atmosphere, good coffee and tea selection, fine breakfast, and cheap too. Highly recommendable.
MoreDelicious coffee & friendly staff
A small quaint little cafe, it's only a block away from Kinkakuji pavillion. It had a full english menu and the service was excellent. It also has free wifi that actually works. The bathroom was clean and beautiful. Theres only 1 for everyone. The coffee was delicious as well as the castella cake and I will definitely go back there in the future.
MoreRelaxing cafe to have a coffee after visiting infamous Kinkaku Ji.
Nice place
A charming place that is surprisingly quiet and calm despite being in front of a busy bus stop. The cheese toast was delicious and reminded me of home. A nice place to collect your thoughts or plan your next destination.
MoreFantastic little cafe, coffee was great and so was the foodPancakes crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside Sandwich was great as well but small portion Coffee was a great blend and full flavour
MoreReally nice place. The waiter is quite professional, the coffe is delicious and the establishment itself is beautiful and peaceful with good jazzy music.
MoreLovely little cafe with fairly cheap prices and good food. The music added ambience and the music design is very vintage.
MoreNice atmosphere, friendly staff
Absolute decadence in a cup, the Gold leaf coffee is beautiful and delicious
Amazing coffee and sandwiches.
The coffee here is amazing. They have coffees from Panama, Kenya, Columbia etc.
Small and cozy cafe , nice coffee and bread for breakfast
Friendly host and good food.
Small and cozy. Decent coffee. Good desert. Friendly to babies but no diaper changing station tho.
MorePerfect place to chill after sightseeing at the Kinkakuji. Coffee and cakes were delicious. A really relaxing atmosphere.
MoreReally kind staff, good breakfast and their pancakes are so good!! And it's not expensive at all.
MoreStopped by after going to the Golden Pavilion just to rest up for a bit and figuring out what to do next. It was a uniquely decorated cafe with staff in a butler attire. They have menus on the table (English ones on request) as well as a dessert cabinet to pick out some cakes. There seemed to only be one person doing everything so it did take a bit of time to get everything we ordered (3 drinks and snacks). This place did have one of the nicer pancakes in Japan that I had tried.
MoreGood food and coffee at great prices
Good place to grab a quick bite before touring around
Great coffee and pancakes in classy interior. Nice people
Great food and the staff is incredibly friendly and speaks good English. Affordable and cosy cafe. Easily accessible.
MoreExcellent service and delicious coffee and food. Love the ambient
Real coffee, real butter and real bread! LOVED IT. European style breakfast
Finally found a nice place for breakfast around Kinkaku-Ji temple. The matcha latte and the cake taste good.
MoreAwesome coffee shop located just down the hill from the Golden Shrine, right next to the bus stop into town. There’s a lovely ambience in here, it feels like a 1930s coffee house. The coffee is prepared with great care and has an excellent flavour. The cakes are beautiful too.I strongly recommend pausing here for coffee and refreshments. You will not be disappointed.
MoreJust spectacular, coming from Melbourne my hipster coffee expectations are high and this blew my mind. The venue is really cute and unique as well. Don't miss this place if you go to Kinkaku Ji
MoreGreat place for a slow coffee and lovely breakfast!!!
Great atmosphere, delicious beverages, and lovely hosts! Stop in after visiting Kinkaku-ji. Definitely coming back here for our next trip to Japan.
MoreVery good coffee and breakfast food. This is an excellent choice if you want a break from Japanese breakfast and are near Kinkakuji. Service is very good and friendly (speak enough English to help!)
MoreGreat place to drop by before, or after, visiting the Kinkakuji Temple. They’ve english menu; good coffee with reasonable price. It’s like a local cafe with the cozy atmosphere. I’m very impress that they’ve Cafe Kahlau. Very recommended.
MoreCute little place right by kinkakuji temple with a nice selection of coffee. I had the Yuku tea and a boiled eggs. Very yummy. Great service and a full English menu.
MoreStopped here before heading over to Kinkaku-ji. Service was great. Decor was charming. Coffee was tasty. Food was unremarkable.
MoreVery good espresso coffee. Lovely service by a very smart man. Good English menus for light lunch or a snack. Nice vibe.
MoreA DREAM!!! Absolutely incredible, polite, welcoming gentleman! The simple sandwiches, coffee and the silence are GOLD in this place! I wish I could go back!
MoreA very good surprise, near KinkakuJi, for a good coffee and delicious matcha pancakes. Arigato Gozaimasu.
MoreGood specialty coffee and tasty open face sandwiches
Awesome little coffee shop, with the fluffiest pancakes! Menu is in English also so ordering was easy. Staff are very accommodating. :)
MoreAwesome to take breakfast here! Delicious, not expensive and really welcoming. Pancakes and coffee for 650 yens only. Even people who don't live nearby need to come here! Mix old and new really well. Love this place!
MoreDelicious organic coffee and excellent service.
